WGSS is pleased to offer a variety of financial and other resources for students and faculty.
The WGSS program recognizes how care-work, in all of its seen and unseen, valued and devalued forms, is a common feature of our students’ daily lives. Whether it manifests as volunteering as an after-school tutor, registering marginalized voters, engaging in social justice organizing, or caring for loved ones, caring is important and often unpaid. The WGSS program, in the interest of social justice and mutual aid, will present a monetary award to selected applicant/s (a current WGSS undergraduate major or minor) each academic year. As a gesture, we hope it conveys our feminist understanding that the concept of “working student” is more complicated and involved than the institution itself often understands and rewards.
