Lunch & Learn w/ Finn Enke: Transfeminist Pedagogies

Posted on 09/28/2015

Author and Professor Finn Enke specializes in history of sexuality and gender, primarily 20th century United States. Their research and teaching focuses on feminist, queer, and transgender social movements and theory.

Come join author Finn Enke for a discussion about transfeminist pedagogies!

This discussion-based workshop emphasizes the classroom as a space of dynamic and respectful exchange that recognizes each person’s unique perspectives, identities, and ways of learning. It invites particular consideration of the promises and challenges of honoring gender diversity in the classroom and in the world: how do common linguistic practices erase or illuminate gender diversity? What makes it hard to hear or perceive gender diversity? What kinds of practices are most helpful for supporting all people’s access to and ability to contribute to the learning environment?

A document to read in advance of the workshop will be sent to those who register.

Please RSVP so that we can make sure we have enough chairs for everyone: http://goo.gl/forms/x2sWY7OIrC
