WGSS Housekeepers Appreciation Event 2021

WGSS Housekeepers Appreciation Event 2021

Posted on 02/19/2021

On Monday, February 15th, for the second year in a row, the WGSS program showed our appreciation for UNCG’s housekeepers. The pandemic and the chilly and wet weather didn’t keep us from showing how much the housekeepers mean to the UNCG campus.

While Covid protocols restricted us from gathering, WGSS provided the housekeepers with boxed lunches from Honey Baked Ham, chocolate roses, balloons, and assorted candies. We decorated the tables with hearts and other Valentine’s Day-themed items. Throughout the pandemic, the housekeepers have worked hard to ensure the campus is safe and clean.

Their jobs have grown more challenging due to enhanced cleaning and safety protocols WGSS Director Dr. Lisa Levenstein stated that

“Our university literally cannot function without our housekeeping staff. Our luncheon was intended to thank them and bring attention to their vital contributions to our UNCG community.”

The housekeepers work behind the scenes to keep UNCG safe. WGSS wants to ensure that their work is recognized and appreciated.
