Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies would like to congratulate Azariah Journey on winning the Cone Award for an Undergraduate Course Scholarship, in order to help fund her education in WGSS.

Azariah Journey is a history major and WGSS minor from Louisville, KY. She’s an adult transfer student who received her AA in Communication last May, and is continuing her education in order to earn a Bachelor’s degree from UNCG. She was a substitute teacher at GSC before being admitting to UNCG. Azariah is a member of the College Park Baptist Club and an officer of the UNCG History Club. She and her wife recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary with four rescue fur-children (two cats and two dogs). She likes reading, singing, Bonsai, and keeping up with politics and history. She hopes that being in the WGSS program enables her to learn more about Women and LGBTQIA+ heritage: it’s her dream to become a college professor and with this minor, she hopes to learn, teach, and view history from a more holistic perspective.
