Women’s History Month 2021

This February WGSS took the opportunity to run a month-long social media campaign that highlighted Women’s History Month. Each week women and supporters of women in history were highlighted. These highlights included images of the person, a little about their lives, and other resources to learn more about them. Each week had a different theme including North Carolina history, art history, science history, and LGBTQIA+ history. The purpose of this campaign was to highlight history that doesn’t get talked about often in academia. The campaign included people from various backgrounds and identities. The Women’s History Month campaign was made to remind us that often women’s history is made behind the scenes, but is still important in where we are today.
