UNCG’s  Annual Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Research Symposium
Friday, April 3, 2020
Elliott University Center
10AM – 5PM

Assemblages is an annual conference showcasing undergraduate and graduate research in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. This year’s Symposium will be held on April 3, 2020 in the Elliott University Center at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.

The UNCG Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program invites you to present an academic or personal paper, workshop, or creative piece of media/art.  Submissions should engage central questions in the field of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies by exploring systems of oppression and methods for responding to oppression and/or examining relationships of race, sexuality, gender, class, and ability in such spaces as education, the prison industrial complex, the animal industrial complex, the media, health care, social movements, and more.

The symposium is free to all participants. There will be no registration fees for presenters or audience members. This will not be a competitive atmosphere, but rather a networking opportunity dedicated to the exchange of knowledge and personal experience. Undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, and alumni from all disciplines and universities are welcome and encouraged to submit. Participants are not limited to one presentation or panel. We welcome individual submissions as well as proposals for complete panels with 2-4 speakers and a moderator.

Proposals accepted for:

Paper presentation (Individual or Group)

Facilitated Workshop (Individual or Group)

Panel (w/Faculty Member or Graduate Student Moderator)

Proposals will be due on March 13th.

if you are interested in presenting, please submit a short proposal or abstract (200-500 words) explaining the work that you wish to present.
